Linda House Bailey

Linda House Bailey, of Washington, passed away on January 20, 2017. Linda is survived by her husband-Johnny Frank Bailey of Washington, daughter-Karen Leigh Bailey of High Point, son-John Phillip Bailey and wife, Janie Mizelle Bailey, and grandson-Ethan Cole Bailey of Chapel Hill, and grandson-Michael Zane Moore and wife Sarah Lewis Moore of Winterville, NC. She was born Linda Lou House to the late Claude Halford House and the late Velma Bennett House Coltrain on June 22, 1943.
Linda was the middle child of seven siblings: preceded in death by her brother Frank Mitchel House, married to surviving Francis Cloe; surviving-Jerry Bennett House, Ethel Ann Clark married to Pete Clark (deceased), Claudia Summerlin married to Andrew Claborn Summerlin II (deceased), Claude Halford House married to Karen Ann Werner (deceased), and Marilyn Sue married to David Phillip Glisson Jr.
Linda married Johnny Frank Bailey on February 3, 1962 in Williamston, NC. She enjoyed raising her two children, camping trips to the mountains and visits to the beach. Every year she looked forward to the changing seasons. Her favorite was hot summer days turning to cool fall evenings and also with that, all of the colors of fall.
She had a strength that is rarely found, loved fiercely and beamed with pride at the mention of her grandsons. Linda found great love and comfort in God, her family and a group of wonderful friends.
A memorial service will be held at the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, 307 East 3rd Street, Washington, NC 27889 on February 3rd with a visitation at 10:00am with the service following at 11:30am.
