Patrick Lane Bauer, 59, of Roper, died with his family by his side at the St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospitals, Asheville, NC, on February 20, 2017, following a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Cincinnati, OH, on April 26, 1957, Pat was the son of Jeanette H. Bauer Parizeau and the late Richard Joseph Bauer. Mr. Bauer was retired from North Carolina State and was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Hope Reese Bauer; two brothers, Rodney Wayne Bauer and wife Diana, of Newport, NC, and Mark Todd Bauer Sr., and wife Dana, of Jamesville, NC; two nephews and four nieces.

Pat was one of the kindest people you would ever meet and will be sorely missed by his family and many dear friends.

Memorial services will be at Grace Baptist Church, 1000 Wilson St., Plymouth, NC, on Sunday, February 26, 2017, at 3:00 p.m.
