Mr. Louis Clarence Dillon Jr., age 86, a resident of Belhaven, died Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at his home.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven.
Mr. Dillon was born in Beaufort County on January 14, 1931 to the late Louis Clarence Dillon and Ercel Lilley. He was a graduate of J.A. Wilkinson High School class of 1950. Mr. Dillon was the owner, operator and master cabinetmaker of Dillon Cabinet Making. He was married to Mrs. Nina Virginia Hart Dillon for 62 years until she passed away on March 5, 2016. Mr. Dillon was a veteran of the Korean War and served for more than six years in the Air Force with the 99th Bombardment Squadron. He was also a recipient of a purple heart.
Survivors include five children, Steve Dillon of Belhaven, Linda D. Martin and husband Ronald of Belhaven, Sandra D. Myers and husband Ellis, Teresa D. Manning and husband Maurice, all of Pantego, Carol D. Sawyer and husband Gene of Bath; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ronald Dillon, Larry Dillon and a sister, Barbara Eldgin.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Dillon is preceded in death by a son, David Clarence Dillon, and two brothers, Marshall Dillon and Donald Dillon.
