Lela Hopkins Jarvis, 100, passed away in Norfolk on Tuesday. Lela was born in Hobucken, NC to the late James and Eliza Hopkins. She is also predeceased by her husband, Armistead Jarvis, nine sisters and three brothers. Lela made her family her priority in life, and in her spare time, she loved gardening and planting flowers. She was a member of Norview Pentecostal Church, Eastern Star Norview Chapter 131, Ladies Shrine and a member of the Scottish Rites. She is survived by her son, Charles; grandchildren, Charles A. Jarvis II and wife, Natalia, Christopher L. Jarvis Sr. and wife, Jessica, Jason A. Jarvis Sr. and wife, Kayla and Kimberly Faye Jarvis Evil Sizer and husband, David; great-grandchildren, Aidan, Jacob, Hailey, Jason II, Elizabeth, Charles A. III, Christopher II, Savannah, James, Madelyn, Brandon, Ariel, David and Alana.

A visitation will be from 6-8pm, Friday at Smith and Williams Norfolk Funeral Home. There will be a funeral service conducted at 11am, Saturday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Rosewood Memorial Park. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.smithandwilliamsnorfolk.com.
