Those interested in adopting a pet should inquire at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility, 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated.

The shelter will be closed in observance of Easter this weekend and will reopen Monday.

At approximately 2 years old, this large, American pit bull-terrier mix is a smart, friendly, attractive girl with a brown and white shorthair coat. It’s evident that Chica’s playful: she loves squeaky toys and during her test with other dogs, she did great!
