Mrs. Lola Hensley Cooper, age 93, a resident of Pantego, died Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at her home.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Union Grove Church of Christ, officiated by Scott Askew and Rupert Wallace. Burial will follow in Davis Cemetery. Clay Cooper, Ryan Cooper, Tres Meekins, Tyler Cooper, Scott Cooper and Matt Jordon will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2017 at Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven and other times at the home.

Mrs. Cooper was born in Texas County, MO on March 6, 1924, daughter of the late Fleming and Cora Scott Hensley. She married Roswell Edward Cooper who preceded her in death on December 22, 1992. Mrs. Cooper was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Union Grove Church of Christ.

Survivors include a daughter: Karen Meekins (Dell) of Engelhard; two sons: Lyle Cooper (Gloria) of Fancy Gap, VA and Larry Cooper (Patsy) of Elizabeth City; a daughter-in-law: Brenda Cooper of Pantego; a sister: Reva Dewey of Sparks, NV; a special friend Ronald Allen of Pantego; ten grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Mrs. Cooper was predeceased by a son: Ronald Cooper and two brothers: Ervin Hensley and George Hensley.
