The Washington (evening) Rotary Club met Thursday at the Washington Yacht & Country Club. President David McLawhorn called the meeting to order, and Bartow Houston led members in one verse of “America.” Russell Smith gave thanks for the meal. Before the program, Bill Wall gave an update on the fast-approaching Charlie Griffin Memorial Fishing Tournament. Members were encouraged to make their contacts and get their sponsorships in as soon as possible. Larry Barnes was introduced as a guest of Smith. With business suspended, program Chairman Houston introduced the speaker for the evening. Amy Dellinger with Fitness Unlimited then spoke to a bunch of overweight, middle-aged-to-older men, sharing her knowledge of proper diet and exercise. She stressed that you are never too old or too out of shape to get fit. McLawhorn presented Dellinger with his personal, highly coveted Rotary pen for a job well done. Houston led members in reciting the Four Way Test as the meeting ended.
