From the Beaufort County Choral Society

April has “cried and stepped aside.” With Easter celebrations and gardens and spring cleanings, the melodic members of the Beaufort County Choral Society have still found time to rehearse Thursday evenings for what promises to be a wonderful spring offering: Stories in Song.

We’d love to entertain you Friday night at Arts of the Pamlico’s Turnage Theatre in downtown Washington. The free concert begins at 7 p.m. Further, continuing our long tradition of spring concertizing, we will also perform the same concert in Bath at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Bath.

BCCS Director Stephen Brand wanted to pique choral society members’ interest (and listeners’ interest) with a variety of songs, each of which tells a story. Audience members can see how many they recognize Friday night — or Sunday, if they prefer. And, for those who like to plan ahead, mark Dec. 1 and Dec. 2 for the BCCS second-annual Messiah Sing. More information about that event will be released in the months preceding it.
