Timmy Douglas was named Beaufort County Farm Bureau’s Farmer of the Year during an annual event that brings together community leaders, elected officials and members of agricultural community at the Beaufort County Grange.

Timmy is a hardworking family-oriented man who started working on his family’s farm at a very young age. When Timmy was 17 years old, he decided to make farming his career. Timmy has farmed alongside his father, Steve, and now with his son, Austin. Douglas Farms tends 1,300 acres of corn, soybeans, wheat, tobacco and also raises Angus beef cattle. Timmy has welcomed residents from Wooded Acres Guest Home to pick sweet corn from his patch and also hosted the Beaufort County Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers group with their harvest project.

Timmy has been married to his lovely wife, Cindy, for 35 years. Their son, Austin, is married to Maecy, and she has a son, Garrett. Their daughter, Chelsea, is married to Issaiah Blackburn, and they are expecting their first granddaughter in July.

When Timmy is not farming, he enjoys trips to the beach and cooking for any and every one that stops by Braddy Road. His family is very proud of his dedication, strong work ethic and are blessed by his success as a farmer.
