Ms. Phyllis Mae Huggins, age 63, a resident of Bath, died Monday, June 19, 2017 at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville, NC. Phyllis was preceded in death by one daughter, Elizabeth Colao and partner Tracy Davis. Left to cherish her memories are her mother Norma Gancfried; three children, Anthony Colao and wife Katie, Catherine Colao-Reynolds and husband Rob, and Joann Liota; three sisters, Beverly Lefkowitz and husband Gary, Marian Smith and husband Carlos, and Rachel Tabak; one brother, Robert Tabak; two granddaughters, Lavender Reynolds and Juniper Colao.

Phyllis was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and started her long nursing career in the Bronx, NY and continued in North Carolina. Some of her favorite things were scratch off tickets, adult coloring books, reading novels and shopping. Her most favorite things were her two granddaughters. She cared deeply for her friends and family. A celebration of her life will be held today at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service.
