Veterans unveil temporary Blue Star marker

U.S. 64 WAS RECOGNIZED AS A BLUE STAR MEMORIAL HIGHWAY on June 26 when World War II veterans Dan Davis and Virginia Voliva unveiled a temporary marker at Tyrrell Hall in Columbia. State Transportation Board member Allen Moran of Manteo, local officials, veterans, and several other residents attended the brief ceremony naming the highway between Williamston and Nags Head in honor of the U.S. Armed Forces.
