Those interested in adopting a pet should inquire at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility, 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated.

All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To see more animals available for adoption, visit www.petango.com/beaufortcountyNC, visit ENC Shelter Dogs, ENC Shelter Cats and Washington Cat Rescue on Facebook or call 252-946-4517 for more information. The Humane Society of Beaufort County can also be found on Facebook at www.facebook.com/BeaufortCountyNCHumaneSociety.

Requests for more information with regard to the animals appearing in Pets of the Week may be directed to shelter staff in person at the shelter during business hours or by emailing animal.control@co.beaufort.nc.us — always use the animal’s ID number.

Bell

At approximately 6 years old, this honey-brown, hound–mix girl is sweet, friendly and calm. She wants to be loved — you can see it in her eyes. She’s had a rough life; you can see that in her eyes, too. Medium-sized, Bell is very underweight and under loved. She deserves a good, forever home with owner(s) willing to give her good nutritious food, care, love, exercise suited to her age and condition, in a fenced area or on a leash, and some gentle, basic obedience training. In return, Bell will be a great family member and companion. For more, visit www.facebook.com/EncShelterDogs and click on the appropriate links. Bell’s ID#1189.

Come spend a little time with this good dog — she’s available at the shelter.

Picachu

With an American shorthair coat of sparkling white with areas of tabby stripes in buff and black, plus dark and pale orange stripes, this girl is dressed for a party. Three-year-old Picachu is calm, friendly, loving and adores attention. Give her a little sweet talk and this fun girl starts performing. Give her love, warmth and stability in a good forever home, and she will blossom into a devoted friend, pet and companion. For more on Picachu, use the following link and click on the album “Adoptable Cats.” Visit www.facebook.com/EncShelterCats/. Picachu’s ID#1197.
