Elmo Thornton Carawan, Jr., age 60, a resident of Bath, NC, died August 2, 2017.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Sunday August 6, 2017 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church and will be officiated by Rev. Diane Tomlinson.

Mr. Carawan was born in Beaufort County on June 20, 1957 to the late Elmo T. Carawan and Eva Mae Carrow. He worked at the Washington Daily News as a photographer for many years and worked at the airport. Mr. Carawan had many hobbies like being outdoors and going fishing, mostly he loved going to Ocracoke. On September 9, 1989, he married Roberta Hobbs Kincheloe. He was a member of the Washington Masonic Lodge # 675.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta H. Kincheloe and a daughter, Taylor Roberts.

He is preceded in death by a sister, Beatrice Carawan Latham.
