Mr. Muse was born in Beaufort County on March 9, 1945, the son of the late Joseph Thomas Muse and Helen Alligood Muse. L.J., as he was known by his family and friends, enjoyed fishing and hunting. He had a God-given talent for his woodworking ability, building furniture and cabinets and most anything that involved wood. There was no question about what he was having for breakfast for every morning his son-in-law Barry prepared his favorite sausage, eggs, hash rounds and toast, and when it came to a soft drink, only Mountain Dew was acceptable. L.J. loved his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren, and his best friends, his dogs Sassy and Shelly. Mr. Muse will be greatly missed by his family and all that knew him.
Survivors include his two daughters: Helen Muse Hudson and husband Barry of Pinetown and Sue Ann Muse of Chocowinity; two sisters: Annie Campbell of Chocowinity and Edna O’Carroll of Washington; three brothers: Bonnie Muse of FL, Stanley Muse of TN and William Muse of Chocowinity; three grandchildren: Benjamin Hudson, Christopher Hudson and Hailey Vincent.
