Mary Elizabeth Taylor, age 80, a resident of Hampstead, NC, died Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Castle Creek Memory Care in Castle Hayne, NC.

A graveside celebration service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Taylor Family Cemetery in Chocowinity.

Mrs. Taylor was born in Beaufort County on October 6, 1936 to the late Burton Emanuel Taylor and Della Toler. She never met a stranger and loved everyone.

Mrs. Taylor was a loving mother and grandmother who loved to hear her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play music. She was an accomplished photographer, collector of Elvis memorabilia and avid TV watcher including football. She was a member of Columbia Christian Church for 14 years.

Survivors include five children, Virginia Brice Conner and husband Alton Wayne of Hampstead, Daniel Robert Brice and wife Carolyn of Washington, Joseph Johnson and wife Ruth of Bath, Kent Johnson, Melba Johnson, both of Columbia; fourteen grandchildren, Delia Conner Branch, Christopher Wayne Conner, Christina Gooch, Matthew Allen Brice, Brittany Brickhouse, Bethy Elizabeth Brickhouse, Tyler Edwards, Josh Edwards, Addie Johnson, Sandy Johnson, Joseph Johnson Jr., Oliver Johnson, Jason Johnson, Heather Johnson; twelve great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and a granddog Bambi.

She was preceded in death by her eight siblings and a son Robin Eugene Brice.

The family will receive friends Friday, August 18, 2017 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.
