The meeting was called to order by Gail Vickers on Aug. 8 at 7 p.m.

Members attending were Carlton and Ruby Manning, Harold and Carolyn Tyson, Bryan and Phyllis Weatherington, Buddy and Lynda Harris, Bruce Rabon, Freeman Weiner, Gail Vickers, Karen Ball and Dan Wallace.

The “Song of America” was led by Carolyn Tyson and sung by all members. The invocation was led by Salvation Army chaplain Bruce Rabon.

A delicious meal of spaghetti with meat sauce, salad, bread, drinks and sweets was prepared by Carlton and Ruby Manning. Minutes were read by Karen Ball from July 11. A motion was made to accept by Buddy Harris and seconded by Carolyn Tyson. The treasurer’s report was read by Harold Tyson.

The club received a “thank you” card from Thomas and Clara Bland, which was read by Vickers.

In old business: Lynda Harris and Gail Vickers will check out Ribeyes. In new business: the award committee was selected. They are: Carolyn Tyson, Ruby Manning and Lynda Harris. Fundraising will be discussed at the next meeting. Cooks for September are Gail Vickers and Lynda Harris.

A motion to adjourn was made by Gail Vickers and the motion to accept by Carolyn Tyson and seconded by Ruby Manning. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by club members, and the club was dismissed by Vickers at 7:45 p.m.
