Wesley “Al” Alton Pridgen

Mr. Wesley “Al” Alton Pridgen, age 80, a resident of the Rosedale Community, Washington, died Friday, August 25, 2017 at his residence.
Al was born December 27, 1936 to the late Mary Crisp Pridgen and William John Wesley Pridgen in Beaufort County, NC. Al served his country in the US Air Force and worked for Fountain Power Boats and previously Hamilton Beach, both in Washington.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Mandy Dawn Wallace; one sister, Elizabeth Hardee; and two brothers: Eldred Pridgen and J.R. Pridgen. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Wessels Pridgen and granddaughter Alexis Monigold of the home; three daughters: Alicia Cole of Baltimore, MD, Katie Teskey and husband Charlie of Paisley, FL, and Cherie Rodriguez of Leesburg, FL; two sons: Wesley Alton Pridgen Jr. of PA and Walt Wallace and wife Brandy of Washington. Other survivors include two sisters: Christine Morris and husband Tony and Edna Smith, all of Washington; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and special friends: Carol & Ted Fraune, Earl McKesick and Allen Boyd, all of Washington.
A funeral mass will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Mother of Mercy Catholic Church with Father Brendan Buckler officiating. Walt Wallace, Xavier Cole, Cameron Wallace, Earl McKenzick, Allen Buck and Ronnie Buck will serve as pallbearers. Ted Fraune will serve as an honorary pallbearer. A Rosary Service will be held 6:00 pm Tuesday, August 29, 2017 with the family receiving friends immediately following in the chapel at Hillside Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Mother of Mercy Building Fund, 112 West 9th Street, Washington, NC 27889.
Hillside Funeral Service & Cremations, 4500 Hwy 264 East, Washington, has been given the honor of being entrusted with serving the Pridgen family.
