Nelda Gray Sikes, formerly of Washington, passed away following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her father, David Sikes, and her mother, Vandalia Warner Sikes Carmines. Nelda is survived by an extensive, loving family: Joyce Ruthven of Williamsburg, VA; Julia Baker (Johnny) of Tampa, FL; Joe Sykes (Juliette) of Washington; Billie Sue Engel (Paul) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; nieces and nephews: Jimi Asby, Sandie Heath, Joey Hair, Susan Butler, Walter French, Dixi Baker, Brad Tyson, Kristie Phillips and Lisa James; eighteen grand-nieces/nephews; and ten great-grand-nieces and nephews.

Nelda was a successful developer in Virginia. She enjoyed church, entertaining, family reunions, traveling, cooking and reading.

Memorial graveside service will be at Oakdale Cemetery, conducted by Rev. Rupert Wallace, on Saturday, September 16th at 11:00 A.M.
