Virginia “Ginger” Downs Mowery Mallette, 86, of Zebulon, passed away Monday, September 18, 2017. She was born February 6, 1931 in Guilford County to the late Charles Wakefield Mowery and Olivia Roxy Downs Mowery. Ginger retired from Wake Med as a Registered Nurse.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 am, Saturday, September 30, 2017 at St. Eugene Catholic Church, 608 Lions Club Road, Wendell, NC 27591. A reception will be held at the church immediately following the service.

Surviving are daughters: Mary M. Castleberry (John) of Spring Hope, Anne M. Kannan (Raj) of Boston, MA; sons: Patrick “Pat” Mallette (Angela) of Greenville, Mark S. Mallette (Kathy) of Salem, VA; foster children: Anne Brown (Ken), Joe Ogilvie, Jane Ogilvie Smith (Scott); 12 grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Anthony “Tony” Mallette on August 5, 2016.
