Frank Elbert Dance of South Boston, VA passed away September 19, 2017. He was born in Halifax County, VA on July 22, 1920 and was 97 years of age. He was the son of the late Frank Warren Dance and the late Janie Allen Dance. He was married to the late Doreen Edwards Dance and Dorothy Elliott Dance who survives.

He was a member of Beth Car Baptist Church. He was the owner and operator of Centerville Dodge. He was a member of Faulkner Memorial Masonic #91 AF&AM, ACCA Temple Shriners Club, and a 32nd Degree Scottish Rites Masons.

Frank Elbert Dance is survived by: his wife, Dorothy Dance of South Boston, VA; two daughters, Karen D. Heggie and husband Skip of Pawley’s Island, SC, and Lynn Dance of Washington, NC; three sisters, Aurelia Lacy of Blacksburg, VA, Evelyn Sneed of South Boston, VA, and Marion Henderson of South Boston, VA; one stepdaughter, Pamela Ferguson and husband Scott of Roanoke, VA; three step-grandchildren, Alex Ferguson, Juli Ferguson and Kerri Ferguson.

He is preceded in death by one sister, Janye D. Powell.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Beth Car Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Eldridge Cullum IV officiating. Burial will follow in Halifax Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Friday, September 22, 2017 from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home and other times at his home, 2708 Halifax Road, South Boston, VA.
