William “Bill” A. Day

Mr. William “Bill” Albert Day, age 85, a resident of Washington, died Monday, October 2, 2017 at River Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at First Church of Christ in Washington.

Mr. Day was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada on December 11, 1931 to the late

Richard Henry Day and Annie Rankin Day. On December 27, 1991, he married Sylvia Gray Perry who survives. He worked as a supervisor at Weyerhaeuser until he retired.

Mr. Day enjoyed playing golf and was a very talented painter and artist. He was a member of First Church of Christ and the Washington Yacht & Country Club. Mr. Day was a great father, and he loved his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Maureen Day Sneyd and husband Johnny Howell of Hubert, Brenda Day Priester and husband Franz of Wake Forest, Judy Day Gautier of Reelsboro, Jennifer Day of New Bern; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother Jack Day and wife Lucy; many nieces and nephews and a special caregiver Rebecca Warren.

He is preceded in death by two children, William Albert Day Jr., Anita Day Lucas; four brothers, Ralph Day, Norman Day, Richard Day, Russell Day; and three sisters, Roberta “Bobbie” Mackey, Eva Mercer and Jacqueline Day.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour at First Church of Christ in Washington and other times at the home.
