Those interested in adopting a pet should inquire at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility, 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated.

Handsome in his American shorthair coat, this tabby fellow is perfection in deep and pale orange stripes; pristine white shows on his bib, facial features and feet. Approximately 1-year-old Sam — with huge, captivating eyes and a rosebud nose — is friendly, attentive and likes to be held. When given the love, warmth and stability of a good forever home, he will blossom into a devoted friend, pet and companion. At approximately 2 years old, this medium-size, American pit bull, terrier-mix is friendly, playful and happy. With a trim physique, he wears his jet-black shorthair coat with white accents handsomely. Smart, attentive and active, he deserves a good, loving forever home, and he will do best with owner(s) willing to give him attention, care, lots of exercise in a fenced area or on leash, and basic obedience training.
