Turnage Theatre hosts Halloween weekend

This week brings a variety of fine art and Halloween activity to Arts of the Pamlico and the beautiful historic Turnage Theatre. Thursday a reception for the 53rd Annual Fine Arts show held from 5:30 – 7 p.m., in which the public had an opportunity for art work to be purchased from the show.

Today at 7 p.m., don’t miss the opportunity to view John Carpenter’s original “Halloween.” Tickets are available at the door for $5. Wine, beer and concessions will be available for purchase during the film.

A free Halloween carnival will be offered to children on Saturday at the theater. The carnival begins at 1 p.m. with games and candy. Stick around for the Tim Burton animated film “Frankenweenie,” which begins at 2 p.m. Tickets for the film are $5. Candy, popcorn and drinks will be for sale during this movie.

Finally, join AOP’s Broadway on the Big Screen series as the “Jekyll and Hyde” musical will be presented at 3 p.m. The musical is offered for free, with a suggested donation of $5. Your donations help AOP to continue presenting diversified programming for eastern North Carolina.

Arts of the Pamlico is a community art space dedicated to bringing diverse artistic projects to Eastern North Carolina. It is AOP’s vision to allow residents access to art, theater, music, dance and film offered annually, monthly and/or weekly. Everyone is invited to join AOP and help with the vision of continued artistic programming being offered to eastern North Carolina.
