Mr. Christopher James “Chris” Godley, age 36, a resident of Washington, died Thursday, November 23, 2017.

Graveside services will be held 1:30 PM Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens in Washington, conducted by Mark Lilley.

Mr. Godley was born in Beaufort County on November 9, 1981. He was the son of Gary Carlton Godley and Thelma Dare Baggett Godley.

Mr. Godley was a member of First Church of Christ in Washington.

Mr. Godley is survived by his parents, Gary and Thelma Godley of Washington; brother, Carlton Godley and his wife, Wendy of Washington; sister, Mary Ann Cooper and her husband, Shaun of Greenville; maternal grandparents, J.N. and Bertie Baggett of Windsor; niece, Haley Hutchins; and nephews, Camden and Nolan Cooper.

Mr. Godley was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Bob and Olive Godley.

The family will receive friends after the service at the graveside.
