The NCFFA State Livestock Evaluation Competition was held at the NC State Fairgrounds on November 28. NERSBA FFA placed 24th out of 88 senior teams, with only one junior on the team, one sophomore and two freshmen.

Aaron Spruill, a freshman, was the top scorer and placed 61 out 316 competitors. Ranking among such seasoned teams is a feat for a group’s first competition. Chelsea McPherson, an agriculture science teacher at NERSBA, serves as the group’s staff advisor.

Left to Right are: Chloe Gurganus, NERSBA Freshman; Madison Boyd, NERSBA Junior; Aaron Spruill, NERSBA Freshman, and Katie Harris, NERSBA sophomore.
