Ms. Patricia Ann Buck Lewis, age 81, a resident of Washington, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, at Vidant Inpatient Hospice of Greenville.

A graveside funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, at Oakdale Cemetery. The service will be officiated by Eddie Bowen. Joshua Powell, Kevin Andrews, J.L. Marslender, Tim Osborn, Randol Williams and Dean Andrews will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home of Randol Williams located at 410 Crown Drive, Washington.

Ms. Lewis was born in Beaufort County on March 14, 1936, daughter of the late Richard Otis Buck and the late Martha Louise Porter Buck. She attended Chocowinity High School and Beaufort County Community College and earned her Nursing Assistant II Certification.  Ms. Lewis used her nursing assistant skills to care for family members while she was a homemaker. She was raised and lived most of her life in Beaufort County excluding approximately 10 years that she lived in the Craven County area as a young adult. Ms. Lewis was a member of Old Ford Church of Christ.

Survivors include a son: David Richard “Ricky” Powell (Lisa) of Washington; a daughter: Kristal Powell Andrews (Dean) of Washington; a son-in-law: Randol R. Williams of Washington; a sister: Carolyn B. Marslender (J.L.) of Plymouth; a sister-in-law: Mertie J. Buck of Chocowinity; six grandchildren: Joshua Powell, Laura Powell, Heather Williams Osborn, Stacey Williams, Caitlyn Andrews and Kevin Andrews and four great-grandchildren: Mary Katherine Osborn, Timmy Osborn, Kayla Davis and Anna Lee Powell.  Ms. Lewis was predeceased along with her parents by her daughter: Sharon Powell Williams; a brother: Bobby R. Buck and an infant grandson: Richard Dean Andrews.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of Ms. Lewis’ caregivers.
