Patricia S. Cutler

Mrs. Patricia Ann Smith Cutler, age 75, a resident of 66 Mildreds Road, Blounts Creek, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital in Washington.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 22, 2017, from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington, conducted by Rev. Betty Jo Rodgers. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.

Mrs. Cutler was born in Beaufort County on Dec. 30, 1941. She was the daughter of Jesse Lee Smith and Corinne Mayo Smith. Mrs. Cutler graduated from Chocowinity High School. Over the years, she worked as a teacher assistant, park ranger and homemaker. Mrs. Cutler was a member of Warren Chapel United Methodist Church. In her spare time, she was an avid reader, enjoyed working crossword puzzles, feeding hummingbirds, canning fruits and vegetables, shopping at yard sales and traveling to the Amish country and Florida.

On Dec. 24, 1961, Mrs. Cutler married Ernest Harding Cutler, who survives.

Surviving with her husband are two sons, Kevin Scott Cutler of Chocowinity and Gregory “Keith” Cutler Sr. and his wife, Kathy, of Buxton; two grandchildren, Gregory Keith Cutler, Jr. of Leadville, Colorado, and Patricia “Tricia” Kathryn Cutler, of Buxton; and sister-in-law, Mary C. Peters, of Greenville.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cutler was preceded in death by a sister, Jessie Carol and a brother, Jimmie Smith.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. Friday at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at her home.
