Helen Rebecca “Becky” Fuller Deans, 78, of Chocowinity, passed peacefully on Monday, Jan. 1, 2018, in her home.

Becky was born in Beaufort County on May 8, 1939, to the late Charles “Doodle” Fuller and Mildred Hill Fuller. On Nov. 17, 1956, she married Hallet S. Deans, Jr. She attended Chocowinity High School and was a cosmetologist for many years. Becky was very active in her church and community. She served on the vestry and as senior warden at Trinity Episcopal Church. She served on the Chocowinity Planning Board for 14 years.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Hallet Deans, Jr., of their home; four sons, Hallet Deans, III, David Deans, Macon Deans, Sammy Deans; one daughter, Lou Sullivan; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. at the church until the funeral hour.
