Richland Seniors’ Christmas party another success

The Richland Seniors of Aurora entertained seniors from all local communities at the seniors’ annual Christmas party on Dec. 2.
Alice Briley welcomed all in attendance, Mary E. Galloway gave the devotion. Our community choir did an excellent presentation of Christmas songs and sing-a-longs, under the leadership of Ken and Sandi Lilley. Our thanks for the many weeks of practice they did in the weeks before the party.
Santa (aka Don Jones) was there with gifts for everyone. Guests were treated to punch and finger foods prepared by the Richland Seniors Club.
The Richland Seniors fundraiser of boxed baked goods on Dec. 12 went smoothly. Alice Briley and Terry Mathais delivered hams, a gift from our club, to many local residents for their enjoyment through the holidays.
On Jan. 2, our club members were treated to lunch and fellowship at the Hibachi Buffet in New Bern and a short shopping spree for all their hard work to make all of our projects come together. Club members were asked come up with ideas for a day trip in June.
