Mrs. Carole Anne Hayden Spahr, age 74, a resident of Washington, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2018, at her home. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Spahr was born on June 4, 1943, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late Dorothy Hayden. On Oct. 20, 1978, she married William Spahr. She was a loving, caring, protective, wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls. Mrs. Spahr loved the water, the beach and lighthouses. She was fond of all animals but her favorite was her cats. She was studying to be one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Survivors include her husband of 39 years, William Spahr; three children, Ron Balash, of Washington, Donna Lynn Balash, of Scranton, Pennsylvania, Tracey Doggett and husband Carl, of Washington; three grandchildren, Michael Balash, Regina Doggett, Matthew Doggett; a great grandchild, Michael Balash, Jr.; and a sister, Gail Mehr, of Florida.
