Valentine’s Day will be here before you know it. It’s a special day to celebrate love and friendship among your family and friends. Once again, the public library will be offering “Valentines by Special Delivery” to make this occasion unique.

On Wednesday, February 14^th, Snoopy, along with a magician, will be visiting Columbia to help the community celebrate Valentine’s Day. Adult deliveries will be made from 10:00 until 12:30 for the town of Columbia, including a one-mile radius around the town limits. This area includes: State Employees Credit Union, the Board of Education and Farm Bureau. Anyone outside this area can arrange to receive their gift bags during lunch at one of the local establishments.

The Valentine’s Day gift bags will include many items. There will be a customized plush animal designed especially for this promotion; some special chocolates; and other surprises in each bag. The children’s gift bags will contain some toys and the adult gift bags will include a coffee mug with the choice of tea, coffee, or hot chocolate, and a chocolate rose. Adult deliveries will be made by a professional magician who will perform a magic trick for each individual receiving a Valentine gift bag. Children’s gift bags will be delivered by Snoopy to Mother’s Helper beginning at 10:30 and the Tyrrell Elementary School (Pre-K through 2^nd grade) beginning about 12:45.

In addition to the “Valentines by Special Delivery,” the library will offer just a “Bear in a Box” for $4.00. The purchaser will be able to customize the boxes by adding their own trinkets, candy, or any other items. These boxes will not be delivered and will be immediately available upon purchase while the supply lasts.

This is a great opportunity to do something special for your loved ones this year for Valentine’s Day. The cost of this service will be $8.50 for each gift bag and $4.00 for the “Bear in a Box”. Supplies are limited, so you need to act fast! Just     visit the library, fill out the required information on the gift tag, and your loved one will receive a unique surprise on Valentine’s Day. This will be a chance to simplify your Valentine’s Day planning and a chance to celebrate love and friendship in a unique way. Begin purchasing your gift bags or a “Bear in a Box” on Monday, January 22^nd. Stop by the library to see some examples of these unique gifts. The deadline for reserving the gift bags will be Monday, February 12^th at 12:00 noon, or while the supplies last. The “Bear in a Box” will be available for purchase as long as the limited supply lasts. Bryant Signs will use any proceeds from this event to refurbish the library sign.
