In a statement released January 22, Sheriff Darryl Liverman thanked NC Department of Transpotation employees for their work connected to the two winter storms that dumped a total of 8-9 inches of snow on Tyrrell County.
“I would like to thank the NCDOT personnel that are assigned to Tyrrell County for their efforts to pretreat and clear the highways in Tyrrell County during the two recent winter storms,” the sheriff wrote. “As a result of their efforts, working long hours and in adverse weather conditions, there was only one reported traffic accident total in Tyrrell County during the two recent winter storms. Thank you for helping keep the citizens of Tyrrell County and North Carolina safe on North Carolina highways.”
