Mrs. Frances Hudnell Mayo, age 94, a resident of Dublin Run Road, Aurora, died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital in Washington.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, at Cuthrell Cemetery, White Hill Community of Aurora, conducted by Rev. Raymond Lagcher.

Mrs. Mayo was born in Beaufort county on Dec. 24, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Ralph B. Hudnell, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Bennett Hudnell. Mrs. Mayo was a homemaker. She was a member of Dublin Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church and the Dublin Grove Ladies Auxiliary.

Mrs. Mayo was married to Jesse Rudolph Mayo, who preceded her in death in 1985.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ellen Galloway, of Aurora, and Susan Williamson and husband Steve, of Aurora; a son, Steve Mayo, of Aurora; two grandchildren, Steven Mayo, of Raleigh, and Donnie Williamson, of Greenville.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Mayo was preceded in death by a son, Rudy Mayo, and a brother, Ralph Bonner Hudnell, Jr.
