Mr. Roy Warren Gray, 78, of Grimesland, passed away Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Mausoleum at Pinewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the Mausoleum.

Mr. Gray, a native of Beaufort County, lived most of his adult life in the Grimesland community. He was a 1957 graduate of Chocowinity High School and worked at E.I. DuPont for 32 years prior to his retirement. Mr. Gray enjoyed fishing, spending time in his garden, and sharing the vegetables he grew with friends and family. He loved his Sunday School class, the Good News Crusaders and fellowshipping with friends at the Black Jack Convenient Store.

Mr. Gray was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Roy and Alice Gray, a brother, and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lois Reel Gray; daughters, Karen Gray Dunn, of Grimesland, and Heather Gray of Winterville; grandson, Travis Dunn, of Grimesland; sisters, Polly Woolard, of Washington, and Jane Burn and husband Ladley, of Lawndale; sister-in-laws, Peggy Gray, of New Bern, Miriam Pleasant, and Becky McGowan and husband, David; brother-in-law, Elton Reel and wife Louise, all of Greenville; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Black Jack Free Will Baptist Church, 2972 Black Jack-Simpson Road, Greenville, NC 27858.
