Ronald C. Pugh, Sr.

Ronald C. Pugh, Sr., 74, of Stantonsburg, passed away Thursday.  A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018, at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home, 2704 Nash St. N, Wilson, with Rev. William O’Neal officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Sunday, from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m., at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home.

Ronald was a veteran of the United Sates Navy. He worked as a truck driver for 45 years, retiring from Estes Express Lines. Ronald attended Wilson First Pentecostal Holiness Church. He served as a volunteer firefighter with the Moyton Volunteer Fire Department in Stantonsburg and also served as a captain with the Stantonsburg EMS. Ronald was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret O. Pugh; one son, Ronald C. Pugh, Jr. (Susan), of Wilson; one daughter, Sharon Pugh Price (Michael), of Wilson; five grandchildren, Tracey Pugh, David Price, Allen Pugh, Kimberly Pugh and Hannah Price; a great-granddaughter, Madalyn Pugh; a brother, Tony Pugh (Janice), of Engelhard; and a sister, Lynette Sawyer (Howard), of Pamlico Beach.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Norville and Hilda Hodges Pugh, and a sister, Jean Gibbs.
