Engelhard man charged with multiple drug felonies in Tyrrell County

Tyrrell deputies arrested James Luther Williams, 25, of Englehard Feb. 14 and charged him with three felonies: possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, and maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place for the sale and delivery of controlled substance, Sheriff Darryl Liverman reported.
Williams was also charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia and with speeding 70 miles an hour in a 55 mph zone.
A 2005 Chevrolet Impala, 49 grams of marijuana, $541 in U.S. currency and a set of portable scales were seized.
Williams was taken before a magistrate who placed him under a $5,000 secured bond. He was then transported to Dare County Detention Center.
Williams was arrested during a traffic stop.
