Erma Peterson Whitehead, 84, of 565 Mile Road, Vanceboro, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018, at CarolinaEast Medical Center. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, at St. James Church of Christ Disciples of Christ. Burial will follow in the Peterson Family Cemetery. And inspirational sake will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, at the church and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.
