White-crowned Sparrow at Pea Island Refuge

Most likely to be seen on Pea Island Refuge during the fall, the White-crowned Sparrow may give an occasional winter refuge appearance. This is a large sparrow (app. 6 inches) with a long tail and a small bill. It feeds on grains, seeds, berries and a variety of insects.
