The Unity Mortuary of Anderson announces that family and friends will gather 11 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018, to celebrate the life of Dr. Thomas E. Midgette at Welfare Baptist Church, 2106 Bolt Drive Belton, SC 29627.

Dr. Thomas E. Midgette, 67, departed this life on Sunday, March 4, 2018, at Richard M. Campbell Veterans Home in Anderson, South Carolina. He was born in Washington on Aug. 28, 1950, to the late Melvin and Margaret Midgette.

He leaves to cherish his many memories and legacy: five children, Katrina Cole, of Loganville, Georgia, Michelle Williams (Don), of Sandy Springs, Georgia, Nina Midgette Wright (Stevie), of Decatur, Georgia, Maya Sutherland (Andre), of Jacksonville, Florida, and Clarissa Midgette, of Gainesville, Florida; two brothers, Melvin Midgette, of Greenville, and Dallas G. Midgette, of Washington; four sisters, Mrs. Florine Moore (Curtis), of Chocowinity, Mrs. Annie C. Hyman (Bobby), of Chocowinity, Mary E. Midgette, of Washington, Mrs. Williemennia Hodges (Michael), of Washington; one uncle, Mr. William “Duck” Midgette and wife Mattie, of Spartanburg, South Carolina; one aunt, Mrs. Sara Gray Midgette, of Washington, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Virginia Ann Bryant, of Morristown, New Jersey.
