Volunteers needed for Scuppernong River Festival

COLUMBIA – Planning for the 2018 Scuppernong River Festival is getting underway and organizers invite interested individuals to join the Planning Committee at the first meeting of the year. “We are always interested in new ideas and new activities to make the festival bigger and better,” stated David Clegg, Chairman of the annual event.
Anyone wishing to participate in planning the festival should be at the planning meeting, 11:AM, Thursday, March 22, at the Town of Columbia Municipal Building, 103 Main Street. The committee meets monthly until the festival.
The Scuppernong River Festival will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018, along the waterfront and streets of Columbia. The day long street festival begins with a Main Street Parade, includes fireworks at nightfall and concludes with a concert on the Tyrrell County Courthouse steps.
