Mrs. Marjorie Faye Walters Smith, 94, of Bath, died Friday, March 16, 2018, at home.

The memorial service will be Saturday, March 24, 2018,  at 11 a.m. at St. Clair’s Church of Christ, 9814 N.C. Highway 99 South, Bath. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30-10:30 a.m. before the service.

Mrs. Smith, daughter of the late Garfield and Myrtle Walters, was a native of Pitt County and graduated from Greenville High School. She took continuing education classes in accounting at Pitt Technical Institute. She worked as a bookkeeper for Leon Moore Oil Company and Cozart’s Auto Supply in Greenville. After moving to Pinecrest in 1969, she was office manager of Beaufort County Hospital in Washington.

She loved living on the Pamlico River … fishing and entertaining friends and family were the joy of her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Blanche Walters Jones and Myrtle Walters Willard.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 75 years, Edward Lee Smith, and numerous nieces and nephews.
