Capt. Noland L. Wilkins

Capt. Noland L. Wilkins, age 66, a resident of 828 Wilkins Road, Belhaven, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at his home.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2018, in the Pamlico Beach Community Cemetery at Ryder Hill and will be conducted by Van Eric Hill.

Capt. Wilkins was born Nov. 11, 1951, to the late Murl Edward Wilkins and Eva Quidley Wilkins who survives. He was a 1970 graduate of John A. Wilkinson High School and was a lifelong commercial fisherman. He was a member of the Washington Singles Club and Life Gate Free Will Baptist Church. On Nov. 25, 1993, he married Alma L. Lozon, who preceded him in death on April 17, 2004.

Survivors include his mother, Eva Q. Wilkins; two daughters, Wanda Sue Hopkins, of Washington; Stephanie Squires and husband Russell, of Plymouth; two sons, Noland Wilkins Jr. and wife Jo, of Belhaven, and Aaron Wilkins, of Belhaven; a stepdaughter, Meghan Pickette, and stepson, Lee Pickette; a sister, Christine Latham and husband Wayne, of Bath; two grandchildren, Russell Squires, Jr., Hannah Squires; and one great-granddaughter, Everleigh Squires. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Cameron Squires, and one sister, Lynn Wilkins.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven and other times at the home.
