Mr. Carl Maxton Jarvis, Jr., 64, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018, at Grantsbrook Nursing Home in Grantsboro. He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Jane Carol Jarvis.

Mr. Jarvis was born in Norfolk, Virginia, on Feb. 21, 1954. He was preceded in death by his father Carl Maxton Jarvis, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Lily “Melvin” Smith Jarvis, a sister, Brenda Jarvis Linton, three nieces, and five great-nieces.

He was a 1973 graduate of Indian River High School in Chesapeake, Virginia. Mr. Jarvis was a loving son who enjoyed walking, gardening, joking with his friends and collecting “Garfield” memorabilia.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2018, at Christ Vision Church, 15001 N.C. Highway 33 East, Blounts Creek. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery, Washington, immediately after the service.
