PLYMOUTH — James Ronnie Pritchett, 85, of Plymouth died Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

Born November 21, 1932 in Norfolk, Virginia he was the son of the late Harry W. Pritchett and Margaret Aliene Alexander Pritchett and was preceded in death by his brother, Harry W. Pritchett, Jr.. Ronnie was a retired History and Political Science Professor with High Point University and member of Scuppernong Church of Christ. He was a graduate of the University of North Carolina, a U.S. Army Veteran and member of Plymouth Housing Authority. He will be remembered for the joy he brought to everyone playing the piano not only at his church for many years but in many other places. Ronnie loved genealogy and the history of our area, which he loved sharing with others.

His family includes his cousins; Francis Van Epps, Judy Furlough. Linda Byrd, Hugh

Alexander, Jerry Powell, Jimmy Powell, Joy Green, Janice Nicholson, Bobby Alexander, Annette Peoples, Rebecca Evans, Paula Meads, Paul Davenport, Jr., Charles Pritchett, Betty Davis, Barbara Griffin, John Spruill and Abbye Gayle Scott along with a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Scuppernong Church of Christ with Cleve Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends on Thursday, April 26, 2018 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Scuppernong Church of Christ.
