Tyrrell Elementary is proud to announce that we are the most recent local recipient of one of BB&T’s Lighthouse Projects.  BB&T’s Lighthouse Project began in 2009, in which they have contributed more than 500,000 volunteer hours and improved the quality of life for more than 15 million people.  The Lighthouse Project gives BB&T an opportunity to provide corporate financial support to local charities, while associates come out and volunteer manpower hours.  In our case, BB&T has purchased 107 books for our Media Center, from a student-created wish list that we provided.  TES is collaborating with BB&T to arrange for associates to come out and help prepare and label these new books, allowing us to promptly have them added to our digital software inventory and available for checkout!
