David “Dave” Walter Trott

David “Dave” Walter Trott, 75, of New Bern passed away Monday, June 11, 2018, at CarolinaEast Medical Center.

Dave graduated from Duke University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Princeton University with his Masters in Mechanical Engineering, Institute of Textile Technology with a Masters in Textile Engineering. Dave was a loyal employee of Celanese Corporation for 34 years. In Dave’s retirement, he loved to travel and volunteer as an algebra tutor at Southside High School for 10 years.  Dave loved golf and his other passions were model railroading and Duke Basketball. Dave handled his health challenges with strength and grace. He will be greatly missed.

David Walter Trott was a loving husband, father and grandfather (Dah) to his wife, Margaret Trott of New Bern; son, Gary Trott and wife, Joclyn of Greensboro, GA; daughter, Debby Hollowell and husband, Steven, of Bayboro; sister-in-law, Margaret “Meg” Trott of Seven Fountains, Virginia; cousin, Anne Daly of Moneta, Virginia; and seven grandchildren, Allison, Ashley, Garrett, Ben, Kai, Jayden and Lauren.

His memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, June 16th at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Penny Dollar Farmer officiating.

The family will receive friends and relatives immediately following the service at The Chelsea Restaurant, New Bern.

In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to The American Cancer Society, 2202 Wrightsville Ave. Suite 111, Wilmington, NC 28403.
