Ms. Elizabeth “Betty” Elks Davis, age 79, a resident of Belhaven, died Thursday, June 14, 2018, at Vidant Inpatient Hospice.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018, in the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and will be officiated by Travis Boyd.

Ms. Davis was born on Nov. 14, 1938, to the late Rufus M. Elks and Alice Chauncey Elks. She worked as a paralegal for over 30 years, was a hard worker and enjoyed her work. Ms. Davis loved to cook, watch old movies and read books. She was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Elizabeth Christi Welfley, of Leesburg, Virginia; a son, Michael E. Davis, M.D. and wife Annette, of New Bern,;and five grandchildren, Greyson M. Davis, Avery C. Davis, Ian M. Welfley, Taylor E. Welfley and Brooke C. Welfley.

She is preceded in death by her faithful canine companion, Spencer.
