Mr. John Clyde Grooms, Jr., age 46, a resident of Washington, passed away Monday, June 25, 2018, at Vidant Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2018, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home of his in-laws, Robert and Gay Carraway, 85 York St., Washington.

Mr. Grooms was born June 18, 1972, in Charleston County, South Carolina to the late John Clyde Grooms Sr. and Alvilda Moore Grooms who survives. He was a salesman with Coca-Cola and in his spare time he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his two boys. On Aug. 20, 2016, he married Laura Elizabeth Carraway, who survives.

Along with his wife and mother, survivors include two sons, Nathan Grooms, Logan Grooms; two brothers, Larry Alexander, Calvin Grooms and wife Amber; three sisters, Faye Quidley and husband Bobby, Darlene Woolard, and Carol Lopez; and many nieces and nephews.
