Gene Parisher Reynolds and James “Jimmy” Boger were married June 30, and the name change to Gene Parisher Boger necessitated her taking the oath again as register of deeds for Tyrrell County, which she did in the presence of Angie Sexton (right), clerk of Superior Court. Boger worked for Tyrrell County in Cooperative Extension from 1977 to 2002, was assistant register for 12 years before being appointed register in 2014 and then elected to a four-year term in 2016. “I appreciate the confidence the county commissioners and the citizens have shown in me, and I look forward to continuing to serve the citizens of Tyrrell County as their register of deeds,” Boger said.
