Janet Robinson

Janet Robinson, 91 years old, a resident of Washington, for more than 20 years, died July 31, 2018, in her home, surrounded by loving family.
Janet was born and raised in Pelham, New York, and graduated from Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont, in 1948 with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology. In 1949, she married Richard Robinson and moved to Watertown, New York.
Janet and Richard retired to Washington in 1997, quickly assimilating to their new home, making new friends and participating in new activities. Janet volunteered for many organizations, including the North Carolina Blind Center, NC Estuarium, Mother of Mercy, St. Vincent DePaul, and Meals on Wheels.
Janet was known for being a great hostess; she always enjoyed having company and entertaining friends.
Janet is survived by her four children: Robby Robinson and wife Cookie, of Raleigh; Peter Robinson and wife Carol, of Vancouver, Washington; Jeffrey Robinson and wife Karen, of Chandler, Arizona, and Lydia Garnett and husband Gary, of Richmond, Virginia. Janet’s husband Richard and sister Florence Hagen predeceased her.
A celebration of life for Janet in Washington will be scheduled at a later date. Janet’s interment will be with her husband in Watertown, New York.
